I got a pleasant surprise when I visited our studios this afternoon. I found a big truck in the parking lot delivering our sign! Yesterday, another sign was put up on the building. In case you didn't know where your LIVE LOCAL LATE BREAKING Station is located, our new home is on the Highway 17 Bypass.
While I was there, I made a quick trip through the building to see what has been completed since my last visit. Everything is really coming together. Engineers are in the process of putting all the computers in the weather center. Every time I stick my head into master control, I see different people diligently working over various monitors and miles and miles of cables. Our directing staff is training on the switcher. A switcher is the tool that a director uses to put the different elements such as live shots, graphics, and video on the air.
I am really looking foward to getting in the building. I have been producing for almost 10 years. In that time, I have never had the variety of tools and equipment I will soon have at my fingertips. I can't wait to see our first newscast. You won't want to miss it either. I promise. It's going to be great.
